CAMP stands for Capaian Maklumat dan Pengurusan Pengetahuan (meaning Information Retrieval and Knowledge Management in Malay language) from which, PECAMP refers to the Society of Information Retrieval and Knowledge Management.

The main purpose of the CAMP conference is to bring together practitioners and researchers from academia, industry and government to present their research findings, as well as to provide a forum for exchanging ideas and experience in the field of Information Retrieval in support for Knowledge Management.

AIRS2014, The Asia Information Retrieval Society Conference 2014 will be held in Kuching, Sarawak, MALAYSIA on 3rd – 5th December 2014. The conference is hosted by the Malaysia Society of Information Retrieval and Knowledge Management (PECAMP), together with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) and International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). The proceedings of AIRS2014 will be published as Springer Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series (approval pending).

CAMP’14 has been postponed to 2016 and be replaced with AIRS2014.

CAMP’12 (Capaian Maklumat dan Pengurusan Pengetahuan), was held in Mines Wellness Hotel, Malaysia on March 13-15, 2012. The conference is organized by the Malaysia Society of Information Retrieval and Knowledge Management (PECAMP), together with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), supported by the IEEE Malaysian Section and IEEE Computer Society.

CAMP’10 is the first international conference on Information Retrieval and Knowledge Management, the latest in a series of conferences co-organised by PECAMP. The previous two national level CAMP conferences, namely CAMP’05 and CAMP’08 were held at ESSET, Kajang and the Palace Beach and Spa, Seri Kembangan, respectively

The CAMP’08 conference focused on “Knowledge Intelligence and Knowledge Management towards National Security”. Papers were presented in the areas of computer forensics, digital law, computer crime, information recovery, internal and external threats, and issues related to privacy.

The CAMP’05 saw papers presented in range of areas covering semantic web, information integration and retrieval, search engines to facilitate “Research and Innovation Acculturation in Knowledge Management”.
